A pair of storms in the Eastern Pacific threaten to become hurricanes within the next few days.
According to National Weather Service forecasts, Tropical Storm Frank — located south of Mexico Tuesday afternoon — is predicted to intensify in strength throughout the week and become a hurricane by Saturday.
The NWS predicts Frank will head west-northwest throughout the week, in the general direction of Hawaii, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.
However, a second storm exists to the west of Frank. So far unnamed, the storm is expected to have a 50% chance of becoming a cyclone within the next two days.
The unnamed storm is expected to interact with Frank, this week, which could alter Frank’s trajectory, and which the NWS predicts will halt the unnamed storm’s further development.
