Samuel “Uncle Sonny” Buentipo Castillo, 73, Hilo died June 7 at home. Born in Balais, Lagangilang, Abra, Philippines, he worked for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and was a retired car salesman for the Chevrolet and Hilo-Mazda-Subaru dealerships, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and founder and organizer of the Filipino Basketball Association, county Parks and Rec basketball referee and KPUA Radio announcer. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 22. at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Allyson Leiko Nohealani Kaua, 60, of Kailua-Kona died June 9 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, she was an accountant. Survived by husband, Alfred Kaua of Kailua-Kona; sons, Fred Kaua and Jason Kaua of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Crystal Kaua and Jenna Kaua of Kailua-Kona; father, Raymond Hasegawa of Oahu; mother, Abigail Kahalewai of Waikoloa. Boyd Maygra, 48, of Kailua-Kona died June 7. No services. No known family. Survivors are asked to call Hilo Medical Center at (808) 932-3500, option 4.

Henry Seiji Okuhara, 81, of Hilo died June 4 in New Albany, Ohio. Born in Hilo, he was a carpenter for Hawaiian Dredging and S.K. Oda, and retired carpenter foreman for M Sonomura Contracting Co. Celebration of life 10 a.m. Saturday (June 18) at Ballard Family Mortuary. Survived by wife, Norine Okuhara of Hilo; daughters, Michelle (Neal) Palmquist of New Albany, Ohio, and Caroline “Carrie” (Nico Hicks) Okuhara of Commerce City, Colo,; brother, Thomas (Wanthani) Okuhara of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Richard Carr Oldfield, 84, of Hilo died May 19 at home. Born in Waynesboro, Miss., he was a retired builder and building designer. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Friday (June 17) at Ballard Family Mortuary.
