The University of Hawaii at Manoa is accepting applications for a year-round STEM program for high school students on the islands of Hawaii, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai and Kauai.
The University of Hawaii at Manoa is accepting applications for a year-round STEM program for high school students on the islands of Hawaii, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai and Kauai.
Satellite classes will be held throughout the state and available virtually.
On Hawaii Island, students will meet at the Hawaii Community College on Manono Street and the Palamanui Campus in Kona.
Project Hokulani helps students learn more about science, technology, engineering and math fields and careers. Participants also get lessons on preparing for college and finding college funding, all before participating in a paid summer internship with a STEM organization.
This program is free to participants.
Eligible students will be high school students in Fall 2022, that can participate in fall, spring and complete a 40-hour summer internship in 2023.
Native Hawaiian students are encouraged to apply, but all high school youth are welcome to apply. Applications are due on June 17. Program starts in September 2022 and runs through July 2023.
