Dane H. Bowden-Kauka, 36, of Hilo died Aug. 29 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a member of the Hawaii Laborers’ Union Local 368, heavy equipment operator for Concrete Coring Co. and former foreman and crane operator at Resort Management Group. Drive-thru visitation only 4-6 p.m. Saturday, (Oct. 16, at Dodo Mortuary upper carport. Face masks and social distancing required. Survived by companion, Brandi Paulo; mother, Javer Lani (Clarence) Kekaualua; stepmother, Joan Kauka; brother, Kimokeo Bowden Sr.; sister, Amanda Kauka-Fernandez; nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Leslie Jiro Ha‘aheo Nomura Doctor, 38, of Pahoa died Sept. 19 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was the owner of Mooloa Farms Service, worked at Close Construction, a member of the Flooring Union and black belt with Dragon’s Kaju Ken Bo. Service at a later date. Survived by parents, Leslie and Shirley Doctor of Pahoa; brothers, Uriah “Hinano” (Leila) Nomura of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ethan (Ashley) Doctor of Ainaloa; maternal grandfather, Henry Nomura of Ewa Beach, Oahu; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Leroy (Lee) Andrew Lux, 87, of Volcano died Sept. 23. Born in Chinook, Mont., he was a retired auto parts businessman, realtor and book buyer who enjoyed reading and watching westerns. Clara K. “Kapua” McColgan, 86, of Hilo died Sept. 9 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kaimu, Kalapana, she was a caregiver. Florentina Libed Ritarita, 95, of Orchidland died Sept. 25 at home. Born in Naguilian, La Union, Philippines, she was a retired teacher at Waipahu High School and past-president of the Filipina Cultural Club on Oahu. Private services. Tomiko Yoshimura, 101, of Hilo died Aug. 7 at home. Born in Papaikou, she was a retired seamstress for the former Kamehameha Garment Factory, Hata’s and Edith’s Dress Shop, member of Taishoji Soto Mission and its Kyodan, Fujinkai, Sunday School, Bushinkai and Baikako, Niigata Kenjin Kai and Lower Kawailani Kumiai.
