Waiakea Ukulele Band event canceled; ticketholders can pick up dinners to go

The Waiakea Intermediate School Ukulele Band Booster Club has canceled the band’s 50th anniversary event celebration scheduled for Saturday evening at the Hilo Honpa Hongwanji Sanga Hall.

Sandy Nakayama, the club’s president, said the dinner tickets sold by the club will be honored with a pick-up event from 4:30-6 p.m. Saturday at the Waiakea Intermediate School office lanai where ticket holders can pick up their Hawaiian plate dinner to-go.
