Donna Mae Leina‘ala Mehau Ah Lo, 81, of Aiea, Oahu, died Dec. 15 at Pali Momi Medical Center in Aiea. Born in Hilo, she was retired from Hawaiian Airlines. Visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 17) at Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary Mauka Chapel in Waipio, Oahu. Service at 10:30 a.m. Visitation again 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 21) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Service at 9:30 a.m. Burial noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Survived by husband, Earl Ah Lo Sr..; sons, Earl (Lani Girl) Ah Lo Jr. and Lyle (Keith) Ah Lo; daughters, Roxanne (Larry) Ah Lo-Batten and Marlene Kamakawiwo‘ole; hanai daughters, Fransonna “Puni” (Monte) Keb-Ah Lo and Tracey Ann Kuamo‘o; brother, William “Cowboy” Ahuna; four grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; cousins, nephews and nieces. Takashi “Taka” Aragaki, 94, of Hilo, died Jan. 30 at hom. Born in Mountain View, he was retired owner of the former Sputniks restaurant and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan, South Pohakulani Kumiai, Hui Okinawa, Hilo Lions Club and Hawaii State Law Enforcement Officers Association, former police and liquor commissioner, member and former commander of American Legion Post No. 1 and U.S. Army World War II veteran of 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Co. I. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by sons, Dayton H. Aragaki of Hilo and Gareth T. (Penny) Aragaki of Flat Rock, Ala.; daughter, Ginette (Roy) Kubo of Hilo; sister, Helen T. (Kiyoto) Tashima of Honolulu; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and cousins. Anthony Didrick “Rick” Castberg, 77, of Hilo, died Jan. 5 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in San Francisco, he was a professor emeritus of political science at University of Hawaii at Hilo, retired U.S. Coast Guard Reserve captain, former member and president of Rotary Club of South Hilo, Volcano Art Center and Kuikahi Mediation Center and 1959 graduate of Kailua High School. No services. Survived by wife, Joan Eguchi Castberg of Hilo; daughter, Beth (Michael) Litton of San Francisco and Washington, D.C.; sister, Susan Christ of Georgia; niece, Luana (Kalani) Mahi of Maui; three grandchildren and one great-grandson. Wallis “Antone” Nagareda, 90, of Hilo died Dec. 28 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Onomea, he was a retired county supervising building inspector, member of Papaikou Hongwanji Mission Kyodan and a U.S. Army Korean War combat veteran. Private services held. Harold Douglas Pinnow Sr., 79, of Hilo died Jan. 21 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Onomea, he was a retired Hawaii Police Department officer; Hilo International Airport police for Securitas, former civil sheriff, former truck driver for S.K. Oda and Sonomura, owner of House of Carpets; HJD Auto Body Repair; HDP Water Hauling and HDP Car Carriers, and Hawaii Army National Guard veteran. Visitation 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 21) at Dodo Mortuary Chape. Prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation again 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Friday (Feb. 22) at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
