Andrew Boniface Afong, 76, of Kona died Nov. 6 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a greeter at Makalapua Cinemas. Rosalia “Rose” Agliam, 89, of Kohala died Nov. 9 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kohala, she was a housekeeper at Mauna Kea Beach and King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach hotels and the former Royal Waikoloan Resort and a cover seed field laborer and lab tech for the former Kohala Sugar Co. Born in Narvacan, the Philippines, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for Yamada and Sons, U.S. Marine Corps veteran and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Born in Omaha, Neb., he was a former president of American Federation of Musicians Local 6, former deputy city attorney in San Francisco and U.S. Army World War II and Korean War veteran.
