Cami Oyama/Bruin Yomono • tennis

It takes a village.

Coach Wayne Yamada stressed that it took a total team effort for Hilo Reign to claim a junior tennis sectional championship last weekend on Oahu, with the unseeded 14-under club taking down the Nos. 4, 1 and 3 seeds.

It also takes strong villagers – in this case, Oyama and Yomono each finished 20-5 in games played to lead the way.
