Fire Department rescues two hikers

Two stranded hikers were rescued Tuesday afternoon from the rocky shoreline at the base of a cliff between Pololu Valley and Honokane Valley, according to the Hawaii Fire Department.

The hikers, a 21-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, both from Utah, were became trapped by rapidly rising tide.

The hikers were airlifted via net by Fire Department personnel. There were no injuries.
