Brocke Stepteau had 13 points and Mate Colina scored 10 for Hawaii (2-0).
Purchase hit a 3 to open the scoring and the Rainbow Warriors never trailed. After Jackson Strong made a jumper that pulled Humboldt State within two with 10:14 left in the first half, the Lumberjacks went scoreless for nearly five minutes as Hawaii scored 20 consecutive points to make it 33-11. Humboldt State trailed by at least 20 the rest of the way.
Strong, the only Lumberjacks player to score in double figures, finished with 13 points.
Hawaii shot 50 percent from the field, including 7 of 15 from 3-point range, and limited Humboldt State to eight field goals on 27.6-percent shooting in the first half.
