Sadie Yee Gouveia, 99, of Honolulu, formerly of Hilo, died Oct. 2 at Palolo Chinese Home in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired telephone representative for Hawaiian Electric Co. Visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday (Nov. 5) at Mililani Memorial Park Downtown Chapel, 20 S. Kukui St. in Honolulu. Memorial service at 10:30 am. Aloha attire. Survived by son, Ronald (Patricia) Gouveia, eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Wade Masao Hanashiro, 65, of Hilo died Oct. 15 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired salesman for Green Point Nursery and member of Honomu Hongwanji Mission. Visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 6) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Arsan Leite Mendonca Jr., 83, of Hilo died Oct. 13 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired equipment installation planner for the former GTE Hawaiian Tel, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Orchid Isle Umpires Association, former varsity basketball coach for St. Joseph and Waiakea High schools, former Little League Assistant District Commissioner and youth sports volunteer. Born in Hilo, he was a retired science, agriculture and industrial arts teacher at Keaau Intermediate School, Ka‘u and Kohala high schools and PICS High School in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia, woodworker, Merrie Monarch Craft Fair vendor, member of Hilo United Methodist Church, its choir and U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War.
