The community is invited to come and enjoy the many beautiful plants on display during the Big Island Association of Nurserymen annual Fall Horticultural Show and Plant Sale today and Saturday at Edith Kanaka‘ole Multi-Purpose Stadium in Hilo.

The community is invited to come and enjoy the many beautiful plants on display during the Big Island Association of Nurserymen annual Fall Horticultural Show and Plant Sale today and Saturday at Edith Kanaka‘ole Multi-Purpose Stadium in Hilo.

The show is from 5-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.

This year, there will be 19 growers on hand to answer questions and give advice. Bamboo, orchids, succulents, native plants, anthuriums, fruit trees and many more will be available for purchase.

The University of Hawaii Cooperative Extension Service, UH master gardeners, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Hawaii Export Nursery Association, Big Island Invasive Species Committee, Hawaii Ant Lab and Hawaii Plant Quarantine Branch will host educational booths.

Saturday morning will feature the popular grower presentations.

• 10 a.m.: Learn about growing vireya rhododendron.

• 11 a.m.: Discover how to make compost tea.

• Noon: A talk about succulents.
