The American Association of University Women, Hilo Branch awarded $6,000 in scholarships to four University of Hawaii at Hilo graduate and undergraduate students last month during a luncheon at the Hilo Yacht Club.

The American Association of University Women, Hilo Branch awarded $6,000 in scholarships to four University of Hawaii at Hilo graduate and undergraduate students last month during a luncheon at the Hilo Yacht Club.

The recipients are:

Heather Ah Cook and Katherine S. Post, graduate students in the Pharm.D. Program, Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy at UH-Hilo.

Jamae Valdez Balagot, undergraduate at UH-Hilo, molecular and cellular biology major.

Nicole Garcia, graduate student, M.A. Heritage Management Program (Anthropology Department) at UH-Hilo.

AAUW has assisted women and girls in the community for more than 65 years to achieve self-realization through education.

AAUW’s mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research.
