Kamehameha needs coaches

Kamehameha-Hawaii is seeking a girls soccer coach, deadline to apply Aug. 21, and an assistant girls junior varsity coach, deadline to apply Aug. 14.

Applicable coaching experience at the varsity, junior varsity or intermediate levels to mold talent for a successful sports program required.

Manliguis scholarships

Applications are being accepted for three Larry Manliguis Scholarships, each valued at $300.

The Hilo High Class of 1960 is donating two scholarships to be given to a Hilo High boy and girl, and another is donated by the Hawaii Alumni Basketball Tournament and is open to any Big Island student-athlete who graduated in 2016.

To be eligible, applicants must write a one-page essay on how sports influenced their life, and what will they do to give back to the community through sports; attend college in the fall of 2016; hold a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

St. Joseph fundraisers

St. Joseph’s fundraising golf tournament will be held at 8 a.m. Sept. 3 at Waikoloa Beach Golf Course.

• St. Joseph is holding a car wash from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 20 at the St. Joseph Church to benefot the boys varsity and junior varsity basketball teams.

Kalakaua hoops camp

The Kalakaua Basketball Camp featuring coach Dennis Agena will be held Sept. 2-4 in Keaukaha for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The fee is $60, payable to Big Island All Stars (write Kalakaua Basketball Camp in memo).

The deadline to apply is Aug. 24 at a limit of 90 per session (K-6th grade and 7-12), though walk-ins may be accepted.

Pirates sign-ups

The Waiakea Pirates youth baseball organization is opening registration to all interested 6-year-old T-ball, coach-pitch, Mustang and Pony level players.

An HGEA Tennis Fun Day will be held from noon-4 p.m. Sunday at Edith Kanaka’ole Multipurpose Stadium.
