Hope! A simple, yet profound four-letter word.

Hope is the essence of the message throughout Paauilo author Jen McGeehan’s nationally released book titled, “My Year in a Yurt: God’s Blessings While Living In 450 Not-So-Square Feet!”

McGeehan will share some of her experiences from 1-3 p.m. June 27 at Big Island BookBuyers in Hilo and July 3 at Piko Hale Gallery in Honokaa.

McGeehan will read from her book of 38 humorous, yet often bittersweet stories of how she and her husband, Pat, radically changed their lives when they moved from the economically challenged mountains of Southern California to the unknown, off-grid lifestyle of a vintage, rented yurt on the Hamakua Coast.

Big Island BookBuyers is at 14 Waianuenue Ave. Piko Hale is on the makai side of Mamane Street just past Malama Market as you head toward Waipio Valley.
