Police are seeking the public’s help with information about a February burglary in Hilo’s Sunrise Ridge subdivision.

Police are seeking the public’s help with information about a February burglary in Hilo’s Sunrise Ridge subdivision.

At 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 2, police responded to a report of a burglary on Hookina Place.

Police learned that a safe containing 12 rifles, three handguns, miscellaneous jewelry and a large amount of cash had been taken from the house. Value of the items is estimated at $22,500.

Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity of the suspect or suspects is asked to call the police non-emergency line at 935-3311 or contact Detective Dean Uyetake at 961-2379 or dean.uyetake@hawaiicounty.gov.

Those who prefer anonymity may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
