Byron Hanuala Ayala, 62, of Hilo died May 8 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Hilo, he was a carpenter, U.S. Army veteran and member of the New Hope Christian Fellowship. Visitation 4-5 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 840 Kupulau Rd. Memorial service and celebration of life at 5 p.m. Military honors to follow. Casual attire. Scattering of ashes at a later date. Survived by wife, Donna E. John Benjamin “Benjy” Kahaka III, 64, of Hilo died May 4 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Wailuku, Maui. Born in Hilo, he was an attorney with his own private practice, member of Hawaii State Bar Association, Hawaii County Bar Association, Puna Canoe Club, Keaukaha Canoe Club, Keaukaha Panaewa Farmers Association, Na Koa Football Boosters, Royal Order of Kamehameha Mamalahoa Chapter, St. Joseph High School Class of 1965, William S.
