In observance of Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month, the Kona Hospital Foundation and Kona Community Hospital will host a discussion from 6:30-8 p.m. May 13 titled “Understanding Skin Cancer: A Conversation About Facts, Myths and Protecting Your Skin.”

In observance of Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month, the Kona Hospital Foundation and Kona Community Hospital will host a discussion from 6:30-8 p.m. May 13 titled “Understanding Skin Cancer: A Conversation About Facts, Myths and Protecting Your Skin.”

The program will be at the West Hawaii Civic Center Community Hale, Building G, in Kailua-Kona.

Guest speakers dermatologist Dr. Monica Scheel and physician assistant Patricia Achay will discuss what everyone should know about skin cancer, including what to look for on your skin and how to prevent problems from arising. There will be a question and answer discussion after the presentation.
