Honolulu police investigating shooting death of man, 72

HONOLULU (AP) — Honolulu homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 72-year-old man.

A 911 call early Friday reported a man in cardiac arrest. But when paramedics arrived at the Salt Lake home, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest.

He died on the way to the hospital.

Neighbor Stanley Lee said he heard what he thought was a vehicle backfiring twice.

The medical examiner’s office identified the shooting victim as Young W. Nam. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
