WAIKOLOA VILLAGE — Police arrested a 20-year-old Waikoloa man Monday morning after responding to a domestic disturbance that resulted in two men receiving knife wounds.

According to police, Gary Morrison of Waikoloa was detained after patrol officers responded to a report that a man was threatening a woman with a gun and had cut two men with a knife on Makuakane Street.

When officers arrived, a man, whom police did not identify, was being detained by people at the scene. Those present said he was responsible for the alleged threats and assault, according to police.

A 21-year-old Hawi man had a laceration to his arm and a 22-year-old Waikoloa man had a laceration to his leg, police said. Both men were treated and released from North Hawaii Community Hospital.

Officers recovered a knife and arrested Morrison, police said. It’s unclear if a gun was recovered.

Morrison was taken to the South Kohala police station for processing and then to the Kona police cellblock while detectives continue the investigation, police said.
