Aaron Valdes finished with 18 points and Mike Thomas added 13 for the Rainbow Warriors (4-2), who will play Marist at 9:30 a.m. Hawaii time Tuesday in the losers’ bracket.

Hawaii evened the score at 37-37 early in the second half on Thomas’ free throw, but Derksen and Matt Glover hit 3-pointers to punctuate as 12-2 run as the Dons (3-0) took control.

Hawaii shot on 36.7 percent and was outrebounded 51-31. Roderick Bobbitt had 10 points.

Kruize Pinkins posted 19 points with grabbed 12 rebounds for the Dons, and Glover made all three of his 3-point attempts to finish with 15 points.
