Krystal Pascua took a pass from Kama Pascua and delivered the overtime winner Monday night, lifting the Rainbow Wahine past Seattle 2-1 at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex on Oahu.
In the final minute of regulation, Redhawks goalkeeper Brianna Smallidge stonewalled both Pascua sisters on hard shots. But 91 seconds into the extra session, Kama Pascua slotted a ball near the top of the box, and Krystal Pascua left-footed a shot past Smallidge at the far post to secure the OHANA Hotels and Resorts No Ka Oi championship.
It was the second goal of the season for Krystal Pascua, a senior from Waipahu, Oahu. Both sisters played their high school soccer at Iolani.
Hawaii (2-2) dominated the first half, holding Seattle (2-2) without a shot and taking a 1-0 lead goal on an own goal in the 23rd minute.
Seattle picked up its play early in second half, and Stephanie Verdoia scored unassisted in the 60th minute.
UH will face defending national champion UCLA at 7 p.m. Friday on the first day of the Outrigger Resorts Soccer Classic.
