Waiakea High School is taking applications for a girls basketball coach and a girls water polo coach.

Applications can be picked at the school office during business hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.).

The deadline to turn in an application is 4 p.m. Sept. 15.

All coaches hired by the Department of Education are required to pass a background check prior to employment.

Sept. 22 event

to promote tennis

The East Hawaii District Tennis Association is again hosting an event to promote adult tennis from 6-10 p.m. Sept. 22 at Edith Kanaka‘ole Stadium.

“Got Game” is free and open to anyone 18 years or older.

The event is for anyone 18 years and older — from beginner to players with a 2.5-3.0 rating.

Participants are asked to bring water, wear tennis shoes and bring a racquet.
