As of 5 a.m. Monday, Tropical Storm Karina was about 1,500 miles east of Hilo with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph Hilo traveling west-southwest at 9 mph.
Tropical Depression 12-E was situated about 665 miles southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, Mexico, and moving west-northwest away from land.
On their projected tracks, neither storm is expected to have an effect on Hawaii.
Another storm front tracked by the National Weather Service was closer to Hawaii but continuing to dissipate without developing into a tropical cyclone.
