A 25-year-old Hawaiian Paradise Park woman died Sunday from injuries sustained in a one-car crash in HPP.

She was identified as Christina K. Fujiyama.

Officers responding to a 3:28 p.m. call determined Fujiyama was driving a 1994 Acura 4-door sedan east on 20th Avenue near Kaloli Drive and struck a rock wall.

She wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car.

Fujiyama was pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m. at Hilo Medical Center.

It’s unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved, but police say speed was a factor in the crash.

An autopsy has been ordered.

Because the collision occurred on a private subdivision road, Fujiyama’s death doesn’t count toward the official traffic fatality toll.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Officer Clarence Acob at 961-2293.
