The Chinese Civic Association of Hawaii will hold its annual Moon Festival on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Church of the Holy Cross in Hilo. Festivities and a buffet dinner at the church’s multipurpose room are set to begin at 5:30 p.m.

Reservations for the dinner must be made by calling Newton Chu’s office at 961-0406 no later than Aug. 29. The cost of the dinner is $8 per person for ages 12 and older, $5 per child for ages 5-11, and free to keiki age 4 or younger.

In addition to the dinner and moon cakes, there will be entertainment, including a hula hoop competition.

The association’s annual meeting will be held during the festival. Included on the agenda will be the election of officers and directors.
