Police are investigating an early Monday morning home invasion in Puna.

Shortly after 3 a.m., officers responded to a report of a home invasion on Ala Heiau Road in Hawaiian Paradise Park. Two men, one armed and both wearing masks, had entered a house and confronted the occupants, police said.

A 68-year-old man and his 70-year-old wife were home when the two suspects allegedly entered the residence through an unlocked door and started to remove items from a bedroom. One suspect reportedly struck and threatened the male victim.

The suspects then left from the rear of the house with electronic items.

This case is classified as burglary, terroristic threatening and assault.
