Hawaii Island Dizzy Dean Baseball held its opening ceremonies last Saturday at Walter Victor Stadium.
The league has sanctioned teams in the 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10 divisions, and hopes to have teams by June 15 for ages 11-12, 13-14, 15-16 and 17-19.
In addition, the league held a home run derby, and the winners were Loretta Lopes (Hawaii Blue coach-pitch) and Kai Tolentino (Waimea-Hawaii Red Minors).
