The Japanese Chamber of Commerce &Industry of Hawaii Economic Development Committee will present a special program on “The Crisis of Cost in Healthcare” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, in the ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center’s Moanahoku Room.

The Japanese Chamber of Commerce &Industry of Hawaii Economic Development Committee will present a special program on “The Crisis of Cost in Healthcare” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, in the ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center’s Moanahoku Room.

The luncheon buffet cost is $30 for members of the chamber and several of its affiliated organizations, and $35 for the general public. Hear from Luis Salaveria of the State Department of Budget and Finance.

Salaveria will focus on the threat to the state’s fiscal health due to unfunded and unsustainable health care obligations.

Businessman Barry Taniguchi will discuss the increasingly heavy costs of health care premiums on business and a local initiative he is spearheading with Dr. Mike Sayama to create a sustainable model of health care delivery which depends on the engagement of the whole community.
