Cora Johanna Walsh, 98, died May 3 in Waiohinu. Born in Iowa, she was a retired registered nurse and a member of the Kahuku Congregational Church in Ocean View. Condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 158 Naalehu, HI 96772. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Naalehu Community Cemetery. Survived by sons, Douglas Walsh of Naalehu and Edward (Gail) Walsh of New York; brother, John Priem of California; sisters, Margaret Duarte of California and Charlotte (Arthur) Christensen of California; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. John Randell Cook, 62, of Hakalau died May 3 at Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Ada, Okla., he attended the University of Oklahoma and became a registered nurse and formerly worked for Queen’s Medical Center and University of California San Francisco Medical Center and was retired and enjoying life in Hawaii with his husband, Paul. Graveside Committal Service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire. No flowers. Survived by spouse, Paul Mount II of Hakalau; daughter, Mandy Mount of California. Nancy Rosalia Martire Colella, 74, of South Kohala and also of Los Altos, Calif., died April 10 at her Big Island home. Born in Pittsburgh, she was a homemaker, an active community volunteer with numerous charitable organizations including Peninsula Volunteers of Menlo Park and the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research, traveled extensively, was a competitive, high-level bridge player, a tennis player and golfer who donated a “Hole in One” tournament winnings of a car to the American Cancer Society, a Kappa Alpha Theta member in college and founder of “The Katpak” and was honored with the position of “Katpak 1.” A private service was hosted in California. Survived by husband, Samuel Colella of South Kohala and Los Altos, Calif.; son, Mark (Breanne) Colella of Los Altos, Calif.; daughters, Julia (David Carver) Colella Carver of Woodside, Calif., Dana (Daniel Clevenger) Colella Clevenger of Los Altos, Calif., Michele (Tyler Sloat) Colella Sloat of San Mateo, Calif.; sisters, Jeanette Sahi of San Francisco, Louise Martire of Bend, Ore.; brother Louis Martire of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Herbert “Naka” Nobuo Nakamura, 86, of Hilo and formerly of Naalehu died May 1 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Ewa, Oahu, he was a retired supervisor for C. Brewer &Co., U.S. Army World War II Veteran and member of Naalehu Hongwanji Mission. Private services hosted. No koden. No flowers. Survived by daughters, Lisa (Audie) Cabudol of Naalehu, Jann Nakamura of Hilo; sisters, Mildred Aisaka of Aiea, Oahu, Eleanor (Bobby) Masutani of Pearl City, Oahu, Barbara (Yasu) Nagamine of Gardena, Calif.; sister-in-law, Kay Doi of Honolulu; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Elizabeth Jean Boone, aka Jeannie Boone, 87, of Kona and Kapoho died April 27 at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Ripley, N.Y., she was a retired Bed &Breakfast Inn Keeper and Weaver.
