The Pacific West Conference softball twinbill was played at Howard A. Okita Field in Kaneohe, Oahu.

The Vulcans take on Chaminade University in a season-ending PacWest doubleheader at noon today in Honolulu.

With the sweep, the host Sea Warriors improved to 21-22 overall and 13-14 in the PacWest. The Vulcans dropped to 20-20 and 19-13, respectively.

In the opener, HPU lead-off batter Kelia Elderts had two hits, a run batted in and scored twice to sparks the hosts. She was the only player in the game to pair hits.

Chandell Dacosin (11-6) went the distance for the win, holding UHH to five hits while striking out two and walking two. Ashley Nelson (12-10) pitched all the way for the Vulcans, giving up six hits and four runs. She struck out three and walked three.

In Game 2, Kristen Caskey, Dorian Acierto and Charisse Tanabe each drove in three runs to lead HPU, which banged out 11 hits. Kaylie Drew and Colleen Aubrey were the only two Vulcans to pair hits.

Caskey (10-15) went the distance for the win.

UHH starter Hannah Peterson (7-8) pitched three innings and was tagged with the loss.
