The Hawaii Museums Association annual membership meeting and conference — “Museums 20/20: Vision &Visitors” — is slated for 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, April 25, at the Manoa Grand Ballroom at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii in Honolulu.

The Hawaii Museums Association annual membership meeting and conference — “Museums 20/20: Vision &Visitors” — is slated for 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, April 25, at the Manoa Grand Ballroom at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii in Honolulu.

Field trips will be offered to Bishop Museum on April 24, and to the Honolulu Museum of Art on April 26.

“This conference hosts the most diverse group of practicing museum professionals and museum studies students in the Pacific region, and attracts individuals whose research and practice benefit over 100 museums in the state,” said HMA President Jane Hoffman.

Keynote speaker Wendy Meluch, a visitor studies/satisfaction evaluator, will give an overview of what is known about museum visitors.

She is currently working with the Exploratorium in San Francisco, the Oakland Museum of California, the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, Chabot Space &Science Center and the Bishop Museum.

Cosponsorship for the keynote speaker is provided by the Museum Studies Graduate Certificate Program of the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Sessions will include:

• “What’s New &Changing: Digital Initiatives at Home and Abroad.”

• “Cultural Heritage Tourism &the Visitor Industry.”

Roundtable discussions will include topics such as:

• Collections.

• Community outreach.

• Education.

• Exhibits.

• Social media.

• Visitor experience.
