The Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation Mountain View Gym, in partnership with Queen Lili‘uokalani Children’s Center, hosted a holiday ornament design and coloring contest in three categories: grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-8.
Nine winners were selected from 77 entries. An awards and family pizza dinner was hosted Dec. 18.
Winners, in descending order, were (K-2) Lucy Burdge, Tiani Tamala and Kingston Richards; (3-5) Kamalani Andaya, Kyla Burdge and Jordon Konanui-Kong; and (6-8) Steven John Roe, Robbie Akau and Raelyn Webster.
