Norine Luann Madrona, 79, of Hilo, died March 2 at home. Born in North Dakota, she retired as an operator services manager. Private services held. Survived by sons, Randall (Annette) Clay of Waikoloa, Terry Clay of Kailua-Kona and Robert (Kelly) Carter of Washington; daughter, Dinah (Edward) Clay-Melvin of Hilo; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. James “Jimmy” Yoshiharu Inaba, 93, of Kailua-Kona, died Feb. 28 at a private care home. Born in Honolulu, he was formerly employed at the original Kona Inn and a member of Kailua Shita Kumiai. Amy Yuriko Takajo, 82, of Hilo died Feb. 25 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was retired from Bank of Hawaii and was a RSVP volunteer at Waiakeawaena School, and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan, Buddhist Women’s Association, and University Extension Club. Survived by husband, Mareo Takajo of Hilo; daughter, Gwendolyn Sakoda of Hilo; son, Sheldon (Lynette) Takajo of Hilo; brother, Paul Kodama of Hilo; sisters, Violet Eguchi of Pearl City, Oahu, and Doris (Patrick) Masutomi of Kona; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Roger William Hawes, 77, of Volcano died Monday at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Multnomah County, Oregon, he was the proprietor of Roger’s Keaau Junction Restaurant &Bar and Hawes Brothers Auto Service; manager of Gresham Elks Club; member of Kilauea Golf Club; umpire for Amateur Softball Association of America and umpire and state Director for the North American Fastpitch Association. Private services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Amateur Softball Association’s Girls Program or University of Hawaii at Hilo’s Girls Softball Program in Roger’s name. Survived by daughters, Barbara Rennie of Winchester, Va., Nancy Baker of Winchester, Va., and Linda (Chris) Williams of Henderson, Nev.; brothers, Ron Hawes of Mesa, Ariz., Steve (Sandy) Hawes of Salem, Ore., and Stanley Hawes of Gresham, Ore.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Rose Marie Vincent, 72, of Hilo died Feb. 22 in Kaneohe, Oahu. Born in Honolulu, she formerly worked as a receptionist for the Hawaii County Office of Aging Coordinated Services and the Hilo Coast Processing Company. She was also a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou and St. Joseph’s Church. Visitation and services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hawaiian Memorial Mortuary and Cemetery in Kaneohe, Oahu. Burial at 2 p.m. Survived by husband, Manuel Vincent, Jr. of Hilo; daughter, Tracy (Louis) Santana of Kaneohe, Oahu; two grandchildren; numerous aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and sisters-in-law. Toshiyuki “Fish” Yamaoka is also survived by sister-in-law, Karen Yamaoka of Honolulu. Her name was omitted in an obit published Thursday.
