The ‘Ula La Red Hat Society Chapter of Hilo will sponsor a “New To You” fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Kress Building in downtown Hilo.

There will be stylish fashions, furniture, household goods, plants and baked goods.

Proceeds will help the Hilo group host the 11th annual Hawaii State Red Hat Society Convention Oct. 17-19 in Kailua-Kona.

“This is the first time the state convention has taken place on Hawaii Island, and the Red Hat Society chapters on this island have banded together to put on this event,” said spokeswoman Muriel Mililani Hughes.

“Ruby, Rhinestones, and Royalty” is the theme for the event and program sponsors are expecting Red Hatters from the Hawaiian Islands, the mainland and Canada to attend.
