In celebration of Teen Tech Week, the Hawaii State Public Library System will offer free STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts &Math)-related programs throughout the state.

The Big Island program will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 13, when “LEGO Robotics” will be presented at Hilo Public Library at 300 Waianuenue Ave. Sacred Hearts Academy teachers Peter Park and Dawn Robertson will demonstrate how to build a LEGO Mindstorms NXT Robot.

Participants will learn how to program basic robot behaviors using motors and rotation, sound, light, touch and ultrasonic sensors. This 90-minute program is suitable for ages 8 and older; children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. For more, call the library at 933-8888.
