A 49-year-old Paauilo man was arrested and charged with soliciting prostitution after answering an ad placed on Craigslist by a police detective as part of an undercover sting operation, according to a police log.
Ira M. Shigaki was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at a Banyan Drive hotel in Hilo.
According to the log, he agreed by email to pay $250 for sex.
Shigaki was released from custody after he posted $250 bail on the petty misdemeanor charge.
