The dump site contains hundreds of pounds of trash, including an empty, 55-gallon drum labeled “formaldehyde.”
Resident Tina Quizon said the big concern is the health and safety of students at a nearby school.
Residents said they don’t know who is dumping garbage at the site. But they said the trash pile is getting larger.
Another resident, Richard Gillarde, said he wants to organize a community cleanup, but he needs help from authorities to look for potential toxins and clear overgrowth.
State and city officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
