Fire in Kailua-Kona triggers evacuations

Fire officials have ordered evacuations for the southern portion of Lokahi Apartments because of a brush fire on Hulikoa Drive in Kailua-Kona.

Fire crews are now attacking the fast-moving fire, which was reportedly heading mauka and north toward Lokahi Apartments. No structures are threatened at this time, authorities reported.

Hulikoa Drive is currently closed.
