The Puna Covenant Church will be hosting the “Global Souper Bowl” starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday in support of the Covenant World Relief’s Project Blue, a clean water initiative.

The key to Project Blue is to make clean water available. Clean drinking water saves lives, improves health, betters the economy, and promotes equality for many regions where accessibility to water is limited.

The event is a culinary journey of soups from nine different countries and features a soup and other food items from counties such as Ghana, Mexico, New Zealand, China, the Philippines and Italy.

Tickets are by donation of $25 for adults and $10 for children 10 and under. Guests also receive a bowl as part of the donation.

The church is located in Keaau above the fire station. The event will be held in the church’s ‘Ohana building. Doors open at 5 p.m.

There will be video presentations, a lucky-number drawing and entertainment.
