Melvin D. Aki, 85, of Hilo died Dec. 1 at home. Born in Ewa Beach, Oahu, he was a retired security guard former the former HT&T Trucking and enjoyed canoe paddling, walking, fishing, watching sports, and doing yard work. Private services. Survived by wife, Jenedina “Jena” Aki of Honomu; daughter, Cherry Ann Aki of Hilo; hanai son, Kimo Aki of Hilo. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Rosita Doran, 86, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 21 at home. Born in Kainaliu, she was a housekeeper at Royal Kona Resor and member of Na Kupuna O Kona Hema South Kona and St. Michael Catholic Church. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at St. Michael The Archangel Church in Kailua-Kona. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Paul Mission Church in Honalo. Luncheon at St. Paul Mission Pavilion. Kaika “Apple” Gedaria Isidro, 34, of Kailua-Kona, died Nov. 17 at home. She was born in the Philippines. Patricia Leilani Kamau, 85, of Hilo died Nov. 13 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired tutor for Chiefess Kapiolani Elementary School, parishioner and catechist of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Lawrence Lorenzo Mangauil, 69, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 13 at Kaiser Permanente Moana Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Kealakekua, he was a janitor at Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport, cook at Kona Village Resort, member of Solid Rock Ministries, and Hawaii National Guard veteran. Celebration of life service 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Big Game Fishing Clubhouse at Honokohau Harbor in Kailua-Kona. Luncheon to follow. Casual attire.
