Mayor Mitch Roth will hold a town hall meeting from 5-7 pm. Thursday at the Laupahoehoe Point Gymnasium.

It will be the sixth town hall in a series titled, “Sustainable Horizons: Mayor Roth’s Community Impact Check-in.”

According to a press release from Roth’s office, the meetings are to provide updates and foster engagement with communities across Hawaii Island.

“Our town hall series has turned out hundreds of residents from South Kona to Waimea who have shared with us their vision, concerns, requests, and needs as it relates to their individual communities,” said Roth in the press release. “We’re looking forward to continuing our outreach and hearing from those in and around the Laupahoehoe area to better understand how we can serve the Hamakua Coast. “

During the first half-hour, Roth and cabinet members will provide updates about the county’s progress and direction. These updates will be tailored to provide site-specific information relevant to the Hamakua community.

The remaining hour and a half will be dedicated to a Q&A session, enabling attendees to directly pose questions to department representatives and receive responses from subject matter experts.

Those unable to attend the in-person event will be able to view the town hall on Friday on Roth’s Facebook page (facebook.com/himayormitch) and Na Leo TV, Channel 55.
