Kona woman faces numerous drug charges

A search warrant served Tuesday by police on a Kalua-Kona residence resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old woman on drug charges.

Ralphlyn Quitugua was charged with two counts of first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, plus promoting a controlled substance in/or/near school or park, second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, and first- and third-degree marijuana possession.

Her bail was set at $31,000.

According to police, the search resulted in the seizure of 57.1 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 19.1 grams of heroin, 41.8 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia associated with drug use and/or distribution.

Also confiscated for possible forfeiture was more than $1,000 in cash.

Quitugua was released after posting bond and is scheduled to make her initial court appearance June 22 in Kona District Court.
