Drivers in Hilo are advised to expect delays this week as construction work continues on major roads.

Today and Thursday, Keawe Street in downtown Hilo will be reduced to one lane between Haili Street and Furneaux Lane between the nighttime hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

No parking will be allowed on that block during that time, although pedestrian access will remain available.

The Department of Public Works advises that both lanes of Keawe Street will remain open to traffic and parking during daytime hours.

Meanwhile, crews from DPW are conducting resurfacing work on Kalanianaole Street from Kings Landing to Kolea Street through Friday, May 26. Work will go on between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Drivers are asked to expect lane closures throughout the work.
