Nighttime road work on Keawe Street starts tonight

Portions of Keawe Street in downtown Hilo will be closed nightly starting tonight due to planned sewer work between Haili and Kalakaua streets, according to the county Department of Public Works.

The makai lane of Keawe will be closed nightly to vehicles from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m., Monday thru Thursday, this week and next week. No parking will be allowed on any of Keawe Street during these times. However, pedestrian access will be available.

All of Keawe Street between Haili Street and Kalakaua Street will be closed nightly to vehicles from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m., Monday thru Thursday, during the week of May 22-25. No parking will be allowed on any of Keawe Street during these times. However, pedestrian access will be available.

Please note that both lanes of Keawe Street will remain open to traffic and parking during daytime hours, on weekends, and holidays.
