Ignacio “Rusty” Eclipse, 89, of Hilo died April 4 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kukaiau, he was a retired tour bus driver for the former Arquero’s U-Drive Taxi and Tours, Laupahoehoe Transit and Jacks Tours, and member of Kilauea Hawaii Pidgin Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Memorial service at a later date. Survived by daughters, Sherelyn (Oly) Eclipse-Ujano of Hilo and Terry-Lee Shigemi of Mountain View; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and hanai family. Ivan Vernie Faxon Jr., 78, of Keaau died Nov. 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired executive director and therapist with Faith Against Drugs and U.S. Air Force veteran. Private services held. Survived by wife, Carol Faxon of Keaau; sons, Korey Faxon and Isaac (Aulani Ramos) Faxon of Hilo; daughters, Carlene (Aaron) Savage of Sacramento, Calif., Brandi Faxon and Victoria Faxon of Hilo; brother, Arnold (Victoria) Faxon of Seattle; nine grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Amy Naomi Texeira, 60, of Keaau died April 4 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Wailuku, Maui, she was co-owner of the former Tex’s Small Engine Repair and member of Koa Puna Motorcycle Club and BCA Pool. Private services. Survived by brother, Thomas T. Akima of Wailuku; hanai sister, Daintry Waipa-Kobayashi of Keaau; numerous other hanai brothers and sisters. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Pedro “Pete” Velasco Jr., 85, of Pahoa died March 21. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired public school teacher and a member of the U.S. Olympic volleyball team in 1964 and 1968, a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame and was inducted into the U.S. Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1997 and the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame in 1999. Visitation 10:30 a.m.-noon Saturday (April 22) at Ballard Family Mortuary. Service at noon. Survived by wife, Adelaide Velasco; children, Pedro (Paulette) Velasco, Powell (Joey) Velasco, Prenda (Lee) Moe, Prandi (Joseph) Guerreiro, Pattie (Darren) Chur, Philip (Bridgette) Velasco and Philton Velasco; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
