Patricia Morita, 67, of Hilo recently was presented the prestigious Silver Beaver Award for 2023 by Boy Scouts of America’s Aloha Council which serves youth throughout Hawaii, Guam and American Samoa.

The Silver Beaver Award is given for exceptional community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication and many years of service.

Morita was one of three Silver Beavers awarded by the Aloha Council this year.

Morita has served many years in scouting as Advancement Committee chair for Troop 1050 and Troop 1036, as Aloha Council’s Pukahi District Advancement Committee co-chair, and currently serves as the Secretary for BSA Troop 1023B, sponsored by the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.

Morita is employed as a medical office manager for Dir. Aaron H. Morita.
