During the week of Feb. 6-12, Hawaii Island police arrested 15 motorists for DUI.
Six of the drivers were involved in a traffic collision. One of the drivers was younger than 21.
The numbers of arrests by district were: Puna and Kona, six each; South Hilo, two; and South Kohala, one.
So far this year, there have been 130 DUI arrests compared to 127 during the same period last year, an increase of 2.4%.
There have been 114 major collisions so far this year compared to 89 during the same period last year, an increase of 28.1%.
There have been five official traffic fatalities so far this year, compared to seven for the same time last year, a decrease of 28.6%
DUI roadblocks and patrols will continue islandwide, police said.
