Jose Renato “Rey” Agpaoa Agbayani, 76, of Pepeekeo died Jan. 9 at home. Born in Claveria, Cagayan, Philippines, he was a retired equipment operator for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co., retired farmer and member of Episcopal Church of the Holy Apostles. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial 1 p.m. at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua Section. Casual attire; face masks requested. Survived by wife, Thelma Martinez Agbayani of Pepeekeo; sons, Richard (Melodie) Agbayani and Rey (Haley) Agbayani of Pepeekeo; daughter, Therelyn Agbayani of Keaau; father, Celso Agbayani Sr. of Hilo; brothers, Salvador (Juliet) Agbayani of Mountain View, Jimmy (Theresa) Agbayani of North Carolina, JC (Lindsey) Agbayani of Honokaa and Steven (Sheena Kobayashi) Agbayani of Keaau; sisters, Nancy Carpio of Delano, Calif., and Rose Agbayani of Hilo; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews. Robert Francis Goold, 96, of Holualoa died Dec. 17 at home. Born in South Gate, Calif., he was a retired co-owner of Poki’s Pasta and Poki’s at Dorians, co-owned a Meadow Gold Dairies distributorship and owned Certified Service in Orange County, Calif. Paula Kanoelani Kekahuna, 68, of Pahoa died Dec. 9 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a professional lei maker d.b.a. Hawaiian Style Lei, founder of Maku‘u Farmers Market and devoted her life serving Maku‘u Farmers Hawaiian Homestead Association and the Puna community. Celebration of life 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Kekahuna Hale, 15-1118 Kekuewa St. in Pahoa. Lunch to follow. Survived by children, Phillip Jr. (Ann K.), Ioane (Brianne D.), Lauae (Haili P.), Melekahana (Trevor L.) and Michael Hauanio (Tiara K.); siblings, Kevin Kiilehua (Sharon) and Yolanda Akeo; seven grandchildren.
