Roy Masaji Daikawa, 80, of Hilo died Dec. 3 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired county lifeguard and member of Big Island Woodturners. Visitation 4:30-5 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 22) at Church of the Holy Cross. Celebration of life at 5 p.m. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Mildred Daikawa of Hilo; children, Neal (Jean Marie) Daikawa of Philadelphia, Royden (Laura Esbensen) of Virginia Beach, Va., and Christine (Catherine Perry) Daikawa of Cedarburg, Wis.; siblings, Sadako (Henry) Suzuki of Hilo, Paul (Jane) Daikawa of Hilo, Stanley (Janice) Daikawa of Apple Valley, Minn., and Carole (Harry) Watanabe of Los Alamos, N.M.; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Myles Michael Kanu Hulama Sr., 57, of Kawaihae and Waikoloa died Oct. 28 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born on Oahu, he was a construction apprentice, 1983 graduate of Waiakea High School who played on the Warriors boys basketball team, former sponsored BMX biker and halalu fisherman. Celebration of life at a later date. Survived by wife, Kellie Hulama of Kawaihae and Waikoloa; sons, Myles Michael Kanu (Cymberlyn) Hulama of Waimea and Kinohi David Dean Hulama of Waikoloa; daughter, Kawailani Ginger Haleola Hulama of Waikoloa; sister, Myra (Eric) Hironaga of Keaau; hanai son, Christian Gary Godoy of Hawaiian Paradise Park; hanai brother, John (Joyce) Nalimu of Hilo; sister-in-law, Anita (Chris) Godoy of Kohala; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Beverly Jane Krizan Lasher, 92, of Hilo died Dec. 12 at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in St. Paul, Minn., she was a retired gift shop manager, former restaurant owner and member of Christ Lutheran Church. Services at a later date. Sylvia V. Seddon, 71, of Hilo died Dec. 3 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in California, she was a retired certified nurse aid in California and member of the Glad Tidings Church. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 20) at Glad Tidings Church in Hilo. Memorial services/celebration of life at 11 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by fiancé, Raymond T. Rabisa Sr. of Hilo; daughters, Tara Delligath, Sherri Decker and Michele Seddon of California; brother, Tim Collins of mainland; daughter in-law, Misty Seddon of mainland; sister-in-law, Rose Collins of mainland; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; an uncle. Kiyoko “Gladys” Yanagawa, 90, of Hilo died Nov. 27 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired waitress at Café 100. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts).
